Q: How do I join the ladder?

A: Fill out required fields in the register here section of the Home Page. You will be contacted the same day by text on payment information. The entry fee is $50.

Q: How does a player win the ladder?

A: Players win points based on a variety of factors when they play a tennis match against another player in the ladder. Players are ranked based on the number of total points they have accumulated at the end of the last day of the ladder competition. A running total is kept from day 1 through the end date of the ladder. Win the most points and you win the ladder!


Factor #1 Win the match.

Doubles and singles match win point Value:

8 game pro set 25 Points

2 of 3 sets with a 3rd set super tie-breaker 50 Points

2 of 3 sets with a full third set 60 Points

“Slam Match” 3 of 5 sets 80 Points


Factor #2 Win games.

The loser of the match will receive 1 point per game won. If the loser of the match has a lower UTR than the winner (by a whole number), ie. Loser UTR 5 and winner UTR 7 (7-5=2) then the number of games won by the loser is multiplied by the difference of the UTR rank by the following scale:

When doubles matches are played, team-mate’s UTR Doubles ranks will be combined to create an average UTR Doubles rank. Example: Player #1 UTR Doubles Rank 5 and Player #2 UTR Doubles Rank 9. Their combined rank is 5 + 9 = 14 / 2 = 7. The combined rank of 7 will be the UTR rank used for the multiplier if applicable. Doubles matches are to include deuce and ad points (regular scoring). Only in the event that the match is under a governing body such as USTA, NCAA, ATP, ITF, etc. and requires no ad scoring, will no ad scoring be permitted and accepted in the ladder. 7 point tie breaks are counted the same as one game (1 point) for the winner of the tie break only. **If you only have a NTRP rating, it will be converted to a UTR rating and that rating will be used for the purposes of this ladder.**

Factor #3 Travel to your opponent.

Some players never seem to want to travel any distance to play opponents, so we are rewarding those willing to travel to play ladder matches. This can be a major factor with points for playing ladder members whose court is far from your home court. Travel Points can apply to both players if meeting to play at a neutral court. Travel is measured from home court address to home court address, not from players home addresses. **Your home court Name and Address is required when registering**

Factor #4 Referral of new ladder members.

If a new ladder member uses your name in the “referred by” field at the time of registration, you will be rewarded with 75 points. There is no limit to the number of referral points you can earn with the ladder.

Factor #5 Upload the video of your matches.

If you have Swing Vision, record and upload your match for an additional 5 points. Both players can get points for this if they upload from their own phones. Or you can upload your match to Youtube or Instagram for the same 5 points if you don’t have Swing Vision.

Factor #6 Sportsmanship points.

Earn up to 5 points per match, awarded for being a good sport.

Here are the basic guidelines: Each player starts with 5 points.

For example:

5 pts. - Good Sport

4 pts. - Pretty Good Sport

3 pts. - Fairly Good Sport

2 pts. - Not a very good Sport

1 pt. - Poor Sport

0 pt. - Bad Sport

This is a subjective category. It is meant to foster good sportsmanship and a positive experience for all players.

Factor #7. New opponent points.

Earn 10 Points every time you play a competitor for the first time in the current ladder. One of the goals of CourtClimb is to expand the circle of players we know and play. This counts for doubles matches also, every time you have at least one new person in the group of four, all players get 10 points for playing with someone for the first time.

Q: How will prize winnings be determined?

A: All entry fees in this ladder will go towards prize money for the top scoring participants in the ladder along with two random drawings for Tennis Warehouse gift certificates.
